Over 2 days at the weekend the 2013 Reds attended Kilwinning Rangers festival, a fantastic set up with great grass and astro pitches at their disposal.
In the group stages the Reds beat the Hosts 3-0 in the opening game before a last minute winner decided Game two and a 2-1 victory over Milton Rovers. Game three saw us play a very tall and talented Parkmoor team who ran out deserved 3-1 winners, a bit of tiredness had crept in by then.
On to Sunday and the semi-final, another Ayrshire big name in Irvine Meadow, who had an Airdrie born and bred coach in their coaching team, as well as being a relative of our Club Chairman, Reds dominated from start to finish and came away with a 4-1 victory.
The Final saw a rematch with Parkmnoor who had won every game of the weekend. Reds setlled the fastest and controlled the game realy well limting Parkmoor to very few chances. A 30 yard Volley from Nathan Thomas, a goal good enough to win any final, saw us take the lead. A 2nd half corner and a nod in from 6 yards for Cahl Touray meant we doubled that lead. The team played out the rest of the game and celebrated when that whistle went.
